Cubist Landscapes

Around this time last year, I was on an episode of a Sky Arts TV series called Forger’s Masterclass, aired in the US and the UK. The premise of the show was that John Myatt, an artist sent to prison for painting then selling forged Picassos, Monets, Van Goghs etc. for thousands of pounds (they were obviously pretty convincing fakes), would attempt to teach regular people like me how to paint like the masters. In my episode, Myatt was teaching Cubism, focusing specifically on Georges Braque. I recently re-watched my performance and it inspired me to try again. These are the results.

[...] Perhaps it was the time of year but it’s hard to believe we had more outdoor privacy and greater accessibility to hiking paths while in the center of Europe than we do where we live now. You’d think it would be even more convenient for us to get outside here in Canada, the air filter of the world, but it is not so. Wish they would hurry up and invent time warp and lasso portholes or some other high speed travel that does not depend on the relative peace and tranquility of nearby volcanoes so that we could spend more time in the ‘berg.
